Santa Barbara Fortress is a 16th-century fortress located in Alicante, Spain. It was built in 1552 on top of Mount Benacantil, which is 166 meters high, to protect the city from pirates and foreign invaders. The fortress has served several purposes over the years, including a prison during the Spanish Civil War.
